as part of the implemenation of enhanced workflow, time interval based triggers will become available for automations. This will make possible the creation of an automation to generate/send a report on a time based schedule. Currently there no plans to expose this feature to regular users - only to admins

It would be useful if administrators could set automation rules to generate and send reports through email to specific users/groups assigned. This could be a new type of automation rule where administrators would select the report/s and assignees to receive them, as well as the cadence of the reports generated.
It could also be a per user feature on the report record itself, allowing individual users the ability to set their own scheduled reports.
